The idea of Nido, which translates to ‘nest’ in Spanish, took root during our many travels to far flung places where the people, the food, the landscape, the craft and culture made us feel like in these exotic lands we had found a special nomadic home; a vagabond nest of sorts.
Nido’s ethos begins with a deep sense of appreciation for the beauty of the art and craft that has been created for centuries in the countries and cultures we wandered through, as well as for the hard working artisans who produce their cultural masterpieces. Each masterpiece we buy has a fascinating history and profound cultural significance

We work with brands that have a commitment to sustainability.
Nido is supportive of women artists and women owned businesses, especially in areas where women are marginalized or poverty makes taking care of a family difficult. We acknowledge the hard work of the family and tribal system in areas where financial circumstances are based on production of goods. We believe this practice protects the rights of children and respects cultural and ethnic identity.
